The mission of The ARTery is to inspire people to buy handmade goods, bring back a do-it-yourself culture and to be a prime outlet for local artists and free trade artisans to sell their work and teach their craft.
Brooklyn ARTery is located in the heart of Brooklyn, in Ditmas Park, on Cortelyou Road and on Governors Island weekends from end of May til end of September. We are a vibrant destination where people can shop, socialize, learn, exchange and create.
We are dedicated to creating a community arts space that offers one-of-a kind, affordable and fine quality handmade merchandise and providing customers with a homey, friendly space to hang out. We sell a well curated mx of goods from handbags and jewelry to reclaimed merchandise, home decor, housewares, artisanal food and health and beauty products.
The ARTery studio welcomes families and friends of all ages to take a class, attend an art opening, birthday party and other happenings. Classes include: knitting, cooking, book binding, terrarium building, sewing, crochet, arts and crafts for kids and adults, jewelry making and we have many more in the works.
About the Owners:
Both long time residents of Ditmas Park, Susan and Jocelyn are familiar faces in the community.
Susan Siegel has dedicated her life to starting up and scaling up businesses that make a difference both here in Brooklyn and around the world. Her strength is in filling niches that add value to communities.
